Charles O AndrewsGREEN SPRING, W.Va. — Charles Owen “Buck” Andrews, 71, of Green Spring, passed away at his camp on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 in West Virginia.

Born June 24, 1941 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Joseph Francis Andrews and Alma Grace (Murray) Andrews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Joseph Andrews.

Mr. Andrews was a retired electrician and a Vietnam Navy veteran. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 13. Buck enjoyed spending time at camp with his friends, Irvin and Donna Morgan, Dean and Christine Strauss, and his faithful companion, Jackson.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia; four children, Annette Pritt of Barstow, Calif., Melissa and husband Doug Wilson of Lonaconing, Cyndi and husband Mike Seibert of Cumberland, and his son, Charles Joseph Andrews and significant other of Cumberland; two step-children, Tanya Vargas and Curtis Gomer of Frostburg, J.T. Hare and Candi Mann of Cumberland; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two brothers, James Andrews and wife Jeannie of Clearville, Pa., Mike Andrews and wife Pat of Cumberland; sisters, Ruth Wolford of Oldtown, Nancy Saville and husband Mike of Mississippi, Becky Wright and husband Don, Ridgeley, W.Va., Mary and husband Ronnie Squires of Flintstone, Joan Greise of LaVale, and Teresa McCusker of Delaware.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifh.com) on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 6 p.m. with a celebrant from Our Lady of the Mountains Parish officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.

Inurnment will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
